Summer is moving by quickly, and soon we will be back in school. I am looking forward to meeting each of you and beginning our year with discussions about 1984. The discussions about A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Deadline, I Never Promised You a Rose Garden, Glass Castle, and Annie John will take place on this Wikispace. This is what you need to do before we get back to school.
1) Using the discussion tab on this page, post a question about your novel. Here is how you do it. 1) Clik on New Post 2) Click on Subject:Type the title of your novel 3) Click on Message:Type your question. 4) Click on Post. Your question should engage your classmates and solicit responses that require a paragraph or two to answer. Ask open-ended questions- not questions that require one word answers.
2) Wait until several people have posted questions on the site then choose a question to respond to. You may respond to more than one question or even respond to somebody's response. I hope that we get a few "virtual " discussions going.
Evaluation: Your registration by July 25= 5 points Questions 5-10 points Respnsose 5-10 points
Total Points Available= 25 points
I will be in the wilderness of Rocky Mountain National Park from July 30-August 15th. During this period of time, I will not have internet access, so you will need to help each other with questions or concerns about this assignment using email and the discussion page. I will check this site until Friday, July 30th. I have posted sample questions for some of the novels. You may respond to my question if you like. Good Luck!
